let’s get rich

March 24th, 2010

probably my favorite right now. so springy and happy. p, b, and i saw her friday night with mat kearney and angel taylor at a venue i hadn’t been to since high school. it’s fun being almost 25 and sitting upstairs with a cocktail in hand.

so ingrid will be the soundtrack to my spring. i can deal with that.

it’s time to get my craft on

March 22nd, 2010

so the weather was BEAUTIFUL this weekend, but we’re in for a bummer of a week with rain and clouds. so, after seeing this lovely tutorial i’ve decided to get my butt in gear and use the yucky weather as an excuse to attempt to make some nifty new t-shirts.

i love all the flowery things blooming this season and what a way to re-purpose some of my old ones and get them to look like the ones in j.crew that cost $50.  i think i’m going to cut up some t-shirts that don’t fit anymore and use them for the flowers.

oh happy day! i’m so excited! i’ll post pictures and let you know how they turn out.

spring is here

March 19th, 2010

yesterday we went to rita’s for dinner. yes, you heard me right. water ice for dinner. and addie got her first taste of a doggie cone.

she was an absolute mess. but she loved every second of it. she even licked the drips off of the ground. she behaved herself pretty well too. until the hoodlums on skateboards showed up. then she felt the need to bark at them viciously. maybe she was admonishing them for skating by our house and throwing their garbage in our front hedge. maybe i should admonish them for throwing garbage in our front hedge.

oh Lord, i’ve become my parents.

anyway, addie made me promise to take her back at least once a week. i think we can do that.

happy weekend everybody! we’re in for another 70ish degree day on saturday and i couldn’t be more overjoyed. what are you up to?

my take on hollywood’s biggest night

March 8th, 2010

so, there were quite a few dresses that i thought were heinous last night. but let’s not dwell on the bad. here are my top 4 faves -

#4 Demi Moore

reminded me of a dress from a short on sesame street. me likey.

#3 Helen Mirren

way to be classy. seriously. i can only hope and pray i’ll look that good when i’m her age.

#2 Sandra Bullock

old hollywood glam. and she was in (and won for) one of my favorite movies this year. go sandy!

#1 Sarah Jessica Parker

i have always – and will always – love SJP. enough said.

i’m not sure why i couldn’t come up with a top 5. i guess i’m picky and can’t make decisions. yep, that sounds about right. did you watch? were you amazed? or did you just think the speeches were too long, the hosts weren’t that funny, and the winners were disappointing?

thanks huffington post for these visually appealing shots.
